Xerene and Corrie met as students in Pretoria. Xerene likes to admit that Corrie had her at “hello”, as he would say after that she was “in die sakkie”.
This DIY doing couple have recently moved into their own little house in Pretoria and are busy at getting it ready after all the wedding planning we can only imagine that their life is a lot more relaxing now with tons of time for new fun home making projects.
Xerene and Corrie chose the Cowshed as their venue as they always imagined something scenic, the couple mentioned that the photos they looked at prior to visiting the venue didn’t do it justice at all and on arrival they knew it was the venue they wanted, YAY for us!
The inspo for their wedding was to keep everything as real as possible, with an intimate ambience, they kept it informal with a dash of elegance and simplicity as they are both down to earth individuals. They really blew their guests away with all the incredible DIY elements. Each guest received a wooden cutting board with the bride and grooms names on them. The couple was also able to make beautiful laser cut windmills to use as their table numbers. All these details blew the guests away.
Xerene’s dress was custom made and ordered through a company called Ali-express, this is a huge trend at the moment and many brides are opting for this, its brave and we love a brave bride. It was all worth it as she looked spectacular.
We asked Xerene and Corrie for some tips for future brides and grooms:
Xerene: “Don’t stress yourself out so much about all the little details, at the end of the day if you and your husband got married – the wedding was already a success”. Corrie: “Stand still for 5 minutes and just take in the moment”
These two looked so incredibly happy, grinning from ear to ear with an absolute glow of love surrounding them. Wishing them many many years of happiness together.
