We have had an extremely wet and muddy summer here in the Badfontein Valley and Saturday, 10th November looked like more of the same! On the plus side, the jacarandas were in full bloom and The Cowshed surrounds were lush and green – a great setting for Tanja & Evert’s warm, happy and heartfelt wedding celebration.
Tanja was a very organised, calm and relaxed bride. Together with her good friend, Lizette, Team Tanja dressed up the old shed with pops of coloured flowers in deep purple, red and white, with lots of candles and personal, hand-crafted touches.
With rain threatening, we reverted to plan B for the ceremony and quickly moved the benches onto the Farmhouse veranda. The tallest friends quickly assisted in removing the lace hoops hanging from the tipuana tree and hung them on the stoep.
Tanja was a vision in an exquisite, fitted lace gown which fell into soft tiers around her feet. She wore an elegant fascinator instead of a traditional veil and looked absolutely gorgeous. Evert looked dashing in his fawn coloured suit and together they made a handsome couple. The pretty flower girls brightened up the wet weather in their royal purple frocks with red sashes and hair adornments.
Hannetjie van der Merwe and her efficient team served up a delicious feast and guests danced the night away while Kim Tracey captured all the beauty, joy and happiness in these fabulous photographs.
